Are you now a meetings regular?
Have you been to several meetings, and want to know how to get more involved? Perhaps you are feeling confident about breastfeeding and feel able to give something back to your group. Well, there are many ways you can do this. Any time or help you can give would be most appreciated!
First, you may decide to become a Member of La Leche League. We are a membership organisation and registered charity that exists solely through memberships.
You may like to continue coming to meetings to support other mothers.
Could you write a review of a book you have borrowed from our library?
Perhaps you could offer to bring refreshments to a meeting. We always try to offer a choice of hot and cold drinks and some healthy snacks.
Would you be able to take some posters to put up in local gp surgeries, the hospital or other mother baby groups?
Maybe you'd like to donate a book to the library so other mothers can benefit.
Would you enjoy being a regular greeter-welcoming newcomers and giving out name labels?
Do you have skills that may help us to design flyers and group information cards?
Or, maybe you'd like to take up a longer term group job.
Finally, maybe you're considering whether becoming a La Leche League Leader is right for you.

Supporting other mothers at meetings
The essential message of LLL is Mother-to-Mother support for breastfeeding. While Leaders are trained to represent LLL and provide breastfeeding information, mothers who attend meetings are the lifeblood of the group-they are the ones who will share their experience and wisdom with other mothers, just as mothers have done throughout the ages and do so all over the world.
Every mother at LLL meetings is welcome to tell us about her experiences. Hearing about these experiences may help another mother, so you are welcome to continue attending to provide a support to other mothers, especially those who are attending for the first time, or who are experiencing particular difficulties.
